I wanted to try a thing. These are some of my favorite photos captured from my M50. I've already edited them myself, but I was curious how some of y'all would process them. I thought it could be fun to share them and see how other people's views affect the editing process.

Share them if you want, but you don't have to. If you're thinking about buying an M50 Mark II and wanna see how the sensor performs, this could be a good deciding factor for you.

Anyways, here are the files if you wanna mess around with them. I always appreciate when other people upload some raws for a camera I'm looking into purchasing.

I'll bite on this one. This forum is fairly equipment-oriented, so it's refreshing for someone to post and be interested in image processing. I appreciate your initiative for some 'comparison' image processing, and I wish more would do the same.

Some disclaimers: everyone has different perceptions of images, different skill levels and experience on processing images, and different ways of seeing things. There is no right or wrong. I am not nearly as experienced as many on this forum in post-processing, but in the interest of 'learning' I am willing to put my efforts out there. Please feel free to critique!

This is exactly why I posted the images! I know everyone has a different eye and a different style, and it's not right or wrong! Plus, I wanted to share the raw images because who the heck likes working with JPEGs hah?

This is how I would process the RAW images posted, if I had shot them, using DxO Photolab 5.0, spending just a few minutes processing each one.

Jayson, I'm curious on how you processed them and what the differences are. I hope you will eventually post your images. And I hope others post their interpretations as well.

I will post mine eventually. I didn't wanna skew anyone's perceptions of them and have them edited with a bias you know?

And might I say, I am especially fond of DxO 'Color Positive Velvia' rendering of images as a starting point.... that film has always had a special place in my heart

Interesting crop on the first image. That's not what I would've done, however I didn't even think of cropping it that way. The experiment is working hah!

The other 3 images: I see that you go for a more realistic look with punchy contrast. I like the color tones you used. Thank you for sharing your edits! Nice job!

It's kinda strange to see my images processed in a different way, but it's cool at the same time. It shows me that everyone is unique and what they can do with the same exact image. So nifty.
