As most of you know, I recently bailed from Fuji and swapped over to two FF cameras for all of my paid events work. I won't delve back into all of that in this missive, but suffice to say a big part of my leap was the price of the X-H2's (around 4K for body only here in Auss), and the fact that they brought out both models with that wretched flip around screen. They seemed to completely forget the fact that some of us never use video, therefore for the stills only photographer, we really need a choice of semi-pro/pro camera with a normal flip-out screen.

Fujifilm X-H2 with XF 16-80mm F4 R OIS WR Lens is currently AU $3,119.20 (after 20% off) on digidirect ebay store. Hopefully you can get the XT5 even cheaper.

I didn't sell all of my Fuji gear, as I have kept my brilliant 16 1.4 and my X-T3. I don't use them for paid work anymore, but will use them for my personal stuff. Even though I love the images from my FF cameras, they are really not fun to use like my Fuji gear was. I was solely with Fuji for over ten years, so I really did it tough needing to swap over to another brand. I am really hoping that the coming X-T5 will have a normal flip out screen, a 40mp sensor and retain the dials. If that is the case, I'll be the first to order. I just read that it will be announced and available next month. Not much longer to wait.

Well 40MP & dials are a given and I'm guessing it will also go back to the XT3 style tilt screen...apparently it's going to be more for photographers while the XH is obviously for hybrid shooters.

I wish you were right, but I doubt if there will be tilt screen (there was no tilt since X-T3). Wouldn't be surprised if there will be no clickable dials as well.

I'm afraid fuji adopted the new philosophy in their body design and we will not see old good X-T2/3 spirit soon.

The day that happens then like they say in Mexico “a la chingada” with Fuji and might as well start doing business with Sony.

If Fuji wants to remain “different” then they should keep the tilt screen on the T5.  I think even Panasonic might have left that awesome tilt screen capability for the flippy screen on the S5.  A big mistake IMHO.

I'd like to see real stills oriented body, but this is probably perceived as even more niche idea.

I think X-T5 is going to be the first affordable camera with new 40MP sensor. I would expect simplified X-T4 body, no 8k (who need it?) and lack of pro codecs.

We will se soon.

Cheers,

Artur
