When I started printing at home, I made sure that when I shoot with printing in mind, I always make sure that there is plenty of extra outside the main subject.  I may print 5X7 or 8X10 or 11X14, all the up to 17X whatever (Epson P800 w/roll option).  Some of the stuff I shot before I started printing was cropped haphazardly....rookie mistake.  It made printing some of my older stuff quite challenging.

It is a lot easier to crop now that I have an R5.  Gotta' love the extra pixels!
