There is absolutely nothing wrong with going the used EF route, as long as the lenses you need are available. As I mentioned above, put together a hypothetical list of which lenses you would need.  Some of the old EF glass is still fantastic by modern standards while some other lenses are pretty lousy.

If size and/or weight are a concern you should also compare the EF glass with the adapter against modern mirrorless alternatives. Depending on your budget, it might be worth it to buy the more expensive option.

One other thing to consider is how long do you intend to use adapted EF lenses?  Will this be a permanent solution, or short term based on budget?  If it is the latter, it will likely be cheaper to just save up and slowly buy the native mirrorless lenses from the start.
