well you seem to want a canon FF RP with an adaptor so you can use cheap EF lenses ...and you want a small crop body for travel most probably an m43
however, if you get the RP and say a M50 for your travel cam although M and R lenses are incompatible both M and R bodies can adapt EF glass so you can share EF lenses between the 2 bodies.. they will also have the same batteries
one uses LP-E17 and the other LP-E12
and can use the same flash guns

the EOS M is not dead and wont be for a long time ....as long as you don't want a flagship camera with a VF...if that's the case it died sometime ago

There is no argument for FF vs APS-c (or m43) with shallow DOF..as it's a law of physics and a very subjective personal thing if you want to make use of the shallow DOF only FF can offer
