Re: About the R10

When I bought the RX 10, I tested it against my APS-C travel setup, M6 with Tamron 18-400mm.

While I loved the convenience of the lens, the handling (balance) was terrible. In addition I had to use f8 or better f11 to achieve sharp images corners. The center was actually ok.
So in order to have sufficient shutter speed I was already at ISO 800 as base ISO with M6 and Tamron.
Another issue was the AF accuracy and speed of the Tamron. As soon as I completed my benchmark vs. the RX 10 IV, the Tamron was up for sale. At the same time, I started to use the Topaz tools which can really perform a good remedy to reduce the 1" disadvantages. Earlier this year, I even tried the RP with 24-240mm to see if and how I like FF, but I sold it.
It is better in terms of noise, yes, but I do not need this improvement as I shoot for fun and not for best possible performance. It felt bigger and more clumsy than the Sony and I am not a fan of articulated screens. The IQ of the 24-240mm lens also wasn't to my liking and I was missing the longer tele range. Adding this, would have meant a 2nd lens to the bag.
This said, I would never be happy with anything from a smaller sensor than 1". The premium smartphones are also not yet there for my liking, but for sure they are getting closer.

Right now, I am using the M6 II with Laowa 9mm as a wide addition to the Sony and will keep using the M system "around the house" for now.
