Greetings,

My gear was stolen so am in the process of replacing it. I had been shooting M4/3. But, am thinking about A Canon M6 I or ii. Is the ii that much better than the i? And would either of these be a good option for a hobbiest? I normally shoot regular camera club activities and street photography. I had considered the M50,but thought that the M6 was a better shooting experience? I had also considered A6xxx series. Any thoughts?

Thanks, lepewhi

I am quite late with this response, but I can share my thoughts concerning M6 i.

I am using my M6 for almost 5 years, and I am still very satisfied with it. It offers great IQ and color rendering, good handling and many options for customizing. For me, there are only few points for criticism. One thing is the shortest shutter speed of 1/4000, which is sometimes too long, but only in combination with bright lenses.

And although here is a discussion about RF lenses, which can be "relatively small, light, and inexpensive". That's just the point that counts for EF-M!
No RF lens can compete with the M-counterpart concerning size, weight and costs, e.g.:
EF-M 11-22mm, 22mm, 32mm, 55-200mm, Sigma 56mm

I don't need no other "class" of camera, since my M fulfills all my demands as a hobbyist.

Attached one shot taken with the Sigma 56mm and my M6. Although it is no real "sports camera", it is possible to shoot moving subjects with servo-AF in a satisfactory way.
