A trading frenzy

I owned the EF 100-400, latest model, and tried to sell it for a long time. Mostly because of its weight and size. Without success. When one contact did not want to pay 1400 euro, but instead paid 1750 euro for a second hand in a shop, I decided it was hopeless.
In my favorite shop I traded the EF100-400 + my EF 20mm for the RF100-400, the RF16, and the RF1.4 extender, and added a monopod. The bonus being that the extender also nicely fitted on my RF800. I used all combinations on a trip to one of the Dutch islands and like to share two extremes with you.

The first taken with the RF16, virtually uncropped. The second with the RF800+extender, heavily cropped to 2.2 MP. Obviously, no journal quality, but I was quite happy with the result.
Glad you found a deal that worked for you. But I’m surprised you had trouble selling. In the UK a good condition used EF 100-400L mk2 is a very easy thing to sell. I got £1500 from a dealer as a cash sale, the best of 3 offers. I’ve given up on selling through eBay, by the time they’ve taken their cut I can always get a better price from a dealer such as MPB, WEX etc and zero hassles.
