When I search Quicktime the Google answers to questions mostly read as if QT has been replaced.

When I ask the user I'm getting no answers whatsoever but he is looking into how to read the SD card, and sounded very interested in the tennis doubles video.

Tennis Doubles video?

Honestly sounds like the user is a complete noob.

Quicktime Player comes standard on every new Mac.

(on PC it's a whole other story no doubt)

as for reading SD cards, just about any USB card reader should work. The files will show up on mounted volume on the computer. pretty simple stuff.

I find information like the links below when I search for Quicktime. But I don't know if QT is now "on every new Mac". If so, what is going on with the information that I'm finding and my own experience below when my Quicktime for PCs came to an unexpected end?

Are these and similar histories of Quicktime untrue?

I used Quicktime for my Windows PC. Several years ago there was a security issue and Apple suddenly stopped supporting Quicktime for PC. I stopped using my QT overnight. QT advertising seemed to me to disappear.

When you Google Quicktime and read similar stories, how do you account for the inconsistency with what you are saying?
