Living with your work
20

Buried in another thread, Michael Floyd said this:

The most important thing for me is to have them on the wall where I see them through each day. I print 4 new images each week at A4 size and blue tack them on the wall to appraise. If I like them they stay up, if not I either reprint them adjusted or take them down altogether. When one has been up for long enough that I know it's a keeper I print it at A3+ size.

I think this is excellent advice. I have acrylic frames that I can just slide prints into and I put new -- and old -- work where I'll see it as i go about my day.

Living with your work gets you insights that you might not otherwise have. It's especially useful if there's something not quite right about an image and you can't figure out what it is.
