Eos R user - wide angle options
1

Hi all,

I would appreciate some thoughts on how I could proceed with upgrading my venerable 17-40 L now that I have my Eos R.

I shoot primarily off tripod doing forest / rainforest photography often at f8 / f11 (for fun, no paid work) but I like the IS on newer lenses to maybe allow more hand held shots. Most of my photos are part of 15km plus day hikes fyi. I would really like up upgrade IQ.

I really can't afford the new wide angle L lenses so my options seem to be:

1. EF 16-35 f4 new of second hand. Not preferred to use adapter.

2. RF 15-35 stm - the newly released cheap one.

3. RF 24-105 f4 L - the upper spend limit and I will miss some of the wide angle potentially in some tight situations. Maybe I can just wait for eventual third party glass.

I do like 1 and 2 as the weather sealing may help preserve the lens as I often shoot in rain.

I would appreciate any thoughts.

Jon
