Autofocus seems to be out of calibration

Hi, I am using a Canon 80D with the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 is ii USM lens. I primarily use it for bird photography. Recently I have been noticing that most of my photos seem just slightly out of focus, often with the area just behind or in front of the subject in perfect focus. I am wondering if it’s possible for autofocus to become inaccurate? Would this be a problem with the body or the lens? Is there a way for me to recalibrate autofocus in settings somewhere? Thanks.
