I am a new owner of Sony ZV-E10 with a 35mm lens. When in photo mode (with steady-shot turned off), I see a normal-sized image.

However, if I switch to video mode (also with steady-shot turned off), the frame appeared "cropped along the edges" / zoomed in, even though the settings are the same. Is this normal when shooting videos, or is there some setting that I do not understand that is "trimming" the size of video image frame?

I am recording video in a fairly small studio, and I am hoping to capture the full backwall of the studio. With the photo mode, it would capture the entire wall, but the video mode "crop" would leave out edges of the wall.

Thank you!

I solved the mystery!

There seems to be a hardware limit to ZV-E10 - if shooting 4K at 30 frames per second, the camera would crop the frame. I changed the setting to 4K at 24 frames per second, and the crop disappeared.

I should have just remembered the DPReview article: https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sony-zv-e10-review
