Swimming competition photography struggles

Hi,

GX85 with Leica 100-400.

My kids play multiple sports. When they play outdoor, everything is great, I can take good photographs.

But in the indoor swimming competitions I struggle a lot.

I am in the stands but the places aren't as big as a soccer field. Distance is not a problem. The problem? Light sucks in there. Always dim light.

I can't really put the iso beyond 1600 as the noise is unbearable.

I put the lens in 200 mm or so, which is enough zoom for this distance, Aperture really open. And the speed I get is like 15, or 20 :-/

So, I am wondering if there is a lens out there, not crazy expensive, that would work better for these situations?

Thanks,

Fran
