I bought the G5XII a year or so ago because I missed having a pocket camera on me all the time like I did 15 years ago (back then it was a Nikon P310 mostly). But these days I find I don't feel like taking it with me and restricting myself to the short lens or the small sensor. I'm tempted to force it and go spend a weekend in a city with just my G5Xii and see what happens. Maybe it will be freeing. Maybe I'll constantly by blaming missed shots on the camera.

Don’t underestimate the G5x II; I recently was forced to, pretty happy with the keepers. I brought my M6II and M glass in tow, and the G5x II. Because I only had one battery for the M, and airports involved, G5x II was an ideal fallback option. I’ll be dragging it along tomorrow “downtown”, probably.

From 2007 my main everyday camera was a robust, versatile, and very pocketable Canon TX1. Accompanied on travels by a sequence of other models with better low light and wider coverage, which complemented its convenient daylight zoom and macro capabilities, it was replaced by a slightly larger Casio ZR800 with greater versatility. But remained in use for a few more years as a convenient graphic recorder for macro subjects

My wonder is about the experience of going back to something like that after having been using something much larger for years.
