Testing was very helpful to me. I wanted to know the Jello Effect distortions and how they might affect high speed videos of tennis strokes.

I used a cast aluminum sanding disc, 6" dia. , to show a rotating line in a high speed video. I also took a few high resolution stills of a ceiling fan blade. The camera was looking straight up at the fan. My camera had an iris leaf shutter that has a much different exposure pattern than a curtain shutter. The mechanical curtain shutter and electronic rolling shutter produce distortions. In short, the exposure time has the set duration of shutter speed for all elemental detectors of the array but the actual times of those exposures vary across the array.
