As this lens has no IS it begs the question if f/2.8 and no IS is appealing enough considering the fact M doesn't come with IBIS.

For me a stabilized ef-m compact zoom for daylight walk around stuff and a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 art for shooting people indoors for when you need the light and shutter speeds is a better solution than a compromised f/2.8 zoom.

Speaking only for myself, having such a nicely compact and faster (than what we have now) standard zoom for the M System is much more valuable than putting such a behemoth on an M body, for me. I have that (latter) capability covered by full-frame, and the biggest value of the M System for me is the compactness (and fun) that it delivers.

So yes, I’d still welcome a small fast standard zoom even without IS.
