Why take my word for it when the CEO himself made it abundantly clear that the camera division isn't a money maker and is likely a money loser?
Fuji appears to be making very few cameras, blaming the now comical excuse "muh shortages", and for those very few cameras there is demand - thus they're perpetually out of stock.
If someone wants to get into the Fuji system for the standard reasons that made Fuji popular in the first place (compact, build quality, user experience) there's simply no reason to get new gear when the old gear is just as good and WAS readily available at deep discounts. Contrast this with brands like Sony and Canon, in which new gear greatly outperforms old gear both in functionality AND image quality - that leads to much lower demand and lower prices on old gear.
OK, thanks for responding. Honestly, you appear to be very sour on the brand and apparently you feel compelled to share that here. That’s certainly your privilege, but debating all this with you feels like a complete waste of time and energy as your arguments are primarily just personal opinion with little in the way of real facts or data to back them. Sounds like you’d be much happier with Sony or Canon gear, and if I felt the same way, that would be the direction I would pursue.
Yea I'm so sour on Fuji I've bought five x mount lenses in the past two months and just added an XT2 to what was just supposed to be a cheap walk around camera. I'm a real Fuji hater.
Likewise, my arguments are obviously entirely baseless because everyone knows the CEO of the company is hardly a credible source for what's going on at the company.
Judging by this and your other replies to me, you either aren't actually comprehending my posts or you just like to augment so much that you'll play strawman if necessary.
I think my comprehension skills are just fine, thanks. And I'm pretty sure I've already wasted more than enough time discussing this with you as it is, so by all means carry on.
