Second-hand Fujifilm shortage on ebay & prices going up?

I haven’t gone to eBay for over a decade.

Prices go up and they come down. As mentioned previously, some people aren’t enthusiastic about the use of the PASM dial. Include me in that number. I’m not a fan of the 40MP sensor. The sensor shortage has delayed the manufacture of popular bodies like the X100V. Add these factors together and that spells increased prices for older bodies. This will pass.

I have all the bodies I want and need. I have models going back to the XE1. I don’t, but should, sell my old bodies. Unless I let these bodies go on to the market, supply and demand will keep the used market for older cameras high.

My platform of choice is Craigslist. I’m there a couple times a day. I know the value of the bodies that I want. I go long periods before I see a price that is reasonable. I recently send a message to the owner asking if this is their best price. Many times the owners get upset and share that with me. That’s not my problem. Their job is to get the highest price for the air gear. My job is to get the lowest price. I’m only doing what I’m supposed to do.Case in point. Couple of days ago a Rico GRii came on the market. I thought the price was very good but I wasn’t interested. I went shopping and came back to the GRii. asking price was $200. I emailed the owner and asked if that was the best price. He came down to $190.

I believe that price is absurdly low. I’ve seen this buddy sell for four and $500. I’m going to try theGRii.It doesn’t have a you find it. The 28 mm FOV is too wide for my taste. That being said, I’m going to give it a try. Many people really like this body. If I don’t I’ll sell it.
