Focal length equivalent from crop

Maybe dumb question here, but what the heck.  I'm thinking about getting the Olympus 40-150 f4 pro, but I worry that after many years of 600mm equivalent in a tiny sensor FZ200 and then 600mm equivalent on a one inch RX10IV, the 300mm equivalent Olympus will be frustratingly short reach.  Would the 2x digital zoom bring the 300mm equivalent to 600mm equivalent?  Are there any good simple basic calculator to see field of view or focal length equivalent as an image is cropped in post?  And the correlating remaining megapixels?  For example, how much would I have to crop an image on m5iii taken at 150mm to get equivalent 800mm?  How many mega pixels would be left at an 800mm equivalent field of view?
