Hope this helps.

Hi Bill.

Thank you for the link I saw the video really appreciate it. Yeah I pretty much have it set up the same way.

Just some other Random thoughts but have you tried other ports on the computer? My MacBook 2015 is definitely not a speed demon but I did notice that if I plug my external drive into different ports it’s slightly faster or slower. Also using a power strip can also degrade power and trickle charge laptops leading to them being in power save mode. Copying to My internal ssd is definitely faster. Also found that the internal sd card reader on my Mac is slower on a few cards but identical speeds on others. An external sd reader is really slow for me and the usb3 connection on camera is the slowest.

I have two built-in 1TB M.2 SSD they are not external. It is not a hardware issue

Thanks.

It sounds like you’ve got a beast. Sorry you’re seeing issues. It’s definitely 1 of those it works for me so it’s not broeken for you discussions here. Again sorry.

I expect it to be slow and It’s definitely slow on mine but I expect it. The enhance details took 45 minutes the other day. I do like Lightroom but have mostly given up using it in favor of just importing to Apple photos and using my iPad. Can’t justify the cost for such a beast.
