Re: We Need An Adobe Lightroom True Competitor

Lot of misinformation in here from Adobe fanbois and haters alike. To preface, I loathe Adobe and their terribly coded software and like the OP cannot wait until a real competitor steps up.

First off, I've never had an issue processing Fuji raws in Lightroom and I do nothing special other than important them off the camera.

Pushed this raw files to the high heavens and see no issues with it. I do not understand the constant complaints about editing Xtrans files.

With that said, Lightroom is a horribly optimized, garbage piece of software with the only thing going for it being it's workflow for large quantity edits and internal HDR and Pano merging. I have a 5950X heavily overclocked, 3080ti, and 96GB of RAM and Lightroom is still a laggy dog and Adobe STILL hasn't addressed a nearly decade old VRAM leak issue that has the entire computer stuttering after more than an hour of editing. So to tell people they have slow systems because Lightroom runs slow is just comical. You can build a system that'll live edit 4K video and it'll still be slow with Adobe software.

Adobe is also a garbage company. Creative Cloud is loaded with spyware, takes up ungodly CPU resources for nothing, and is basically a virus that Adobe ties you to for no reason other than data collection on you. For anyone having slowness issues, search "creative cloud cleaner" and delete everything except your core programs.

Serif (Affinity Photo) was rumored to be working on a Lightroom replacement years ago. Fingers crossed that actually works out.
