Dealing with wormy X-trans artefacts
2

I have an X30 (two in fact).  It's notoriously difficult to apply much sharpening to the RAF raw files because of the strange configuration of noise.

Apologies if this has been pointed out before, but I find that if you use the 'enhance' facility in Adobe Camera RAW or Lightroom (not the super-resolution facility), the wormy effect is reduced: it seems to break it down into more conventional, finer grain which is less noticeable and easier to deal with using noise-reduction if necessary.

Just an observation.
