I did i little test.

It is time consuming work to get that hdr-ish look, where the sky is not blown and foreground not black look, with camera. You need to bracket exposure and then run it through software or develop image from single raw adjusting the sky and foreground.

I found phones do it before you hit shutter. Yes the image quality is a bit worse but it is so easy to achieve.

Not award winning image but just interesting comparison:

I like the EM 5 final results better but imagine if the same software that is in phone would be in real camera, it could make pretty neat results without messing after in software so much. In phone you can see the final image right when you point it to subject with those hard light scenarios. EM5 also got "auto gradiation" but it gives nowhere near that amount of this "fake dynamic range" that phone does.
