I owned the 35mm f/2 for a few years (used on a 6D), and while it’s good, I wouldn’t consider it an L-lens in disguise! In my experience focusing was good, and f/2 does give some creative possibilities with shallower DOF if you get close enough to your subject. However, in low light with point sources near the edges/corners, there was way too much coma for my taste, and I ended up stopping it down to at least f3.5. I replaced it with a 16-35 f/4 which I’m happy using wide open, so haven’t lost much usable lens ‘speed’!
