Distortion correction not live with FTZ?
1

I noticed something interesting the other day: with F mount lenses on the FTZ, the distortion correction is not applied "live" in the viewfinder, like it is with native Z lenses.

So on a Z lens you don't see the distortion in the viewfinder and you don't see it in the photo. (Assuming distortion correction is on.)

On an F lens you see the distortion in the viewfinder whether distortion correction is on or off, but you don't see it in the photo if it's turned on.

Or am I mistaken? Fortunately my lenses are not so distorted that the effect is super obvious.

Why would this be? To avoid having lenses have different viewfinder behavior on DSLRs and Z cameras?
