Well, I'm going to agree to disagree.  After using my Canon T2i/T3i (550D/600D) cameras for many years, I decided to upgrade once I read about the Canon T7i (800D) camera.  That was a big enough technological jump for me.  If by calm, you mean slow...well yes to a point where I did not buy cameras every year just because of some minor improvements.  I'm sure if I jumped to other better cameras I would still be impressed...like the Canon 6D MKII, Canon R7 or Canon 90D etc.  But again this is only a hobby for me.  I have many aspects of my life beyond photography.  It just seems strange for me that you talk about this calm, but you appear to not have any modern Canon DSLR or mirrorless cameras (like within the last few years).

I believe that you mentioned that you are not intending to buy mirrorless cameras for a while.  Compared to a DSLR camera, with my one mirrorless model as a comparison I found it quite difficult at first.  Then with changing things in the menu and workarounds, I got it to be a nice useful tool.  I didn't just read about it.  I had to have hands-on experience.  That's so important.  That is what I think you lack, if you are just reading about these newer cameras but are not using them.

I would like to end my discussion here.  I don't want to go back and forth.  You seem like a nice fellow and are passionate about photography.  That's great.  We have this common bond and I hope friendship and I hope I have helped you see another aspect of this.
