Considering a fluid head - A7Riv and Tamron 28-200

Amazon stuttered on delivery but they arrived only a day later than predicted.  I haven't had a chance to go out and use them yet.  I've ordered a second plate for use with the VH-10x to have one for crosswise clamping for the camera plates and L brackets and one set for use with a lens foot going front to back.

VA-5:  Initial impressions?  Fit (with one exception) and finish looks good.  Consistent with my other Sirui products.  I've placed Arca Swiss compatible clamps on the provided plates.

The pan is quite smooth and light, can be snugged up a bit but that gets a little rougher as it's tightened down. It's pretty much on/off, maybe a bit of added damping is possible?  Fit "problem?" The pan lock lever has some interference with the tilting portion of the head when loosened completely and the head tilted fully to the rear.   If the lock lever is fully to the left, and the head tilted, you can't tighten it.  However, it doesn't need to be set all the way over.   It isn't the type of lever knob that can be pulled out and reset nor does it seem to pop off easily.  Web pics show others seem to be clocked differently.  Will investigate further.

The tilt feels like there is some adjustability but it also has single setting spring counterbalancing.   Remains to be seen if I like that, or if it changes some with varying camera/lens loads, etc.  Used to setting tension and having it remain in place, not help it move or return to center.

I've placed it on a Sirui W1204.   With a Leofoto LB-60n leveler, the bulkiest portion of the head sits just above the tips of the legs when collapsed so the legs fold in almost as closely as they had with the ball head. but overall about 2" longer.  The tripod, leveler and head weight in at just under 5 lbs 1 oz.  The tripod bag was snug before so doesn't fit this set up.
