Hasselblad recommends using Hasselblad RGB when exporting TIFFs to Adobe software (see link in OP). I wonder what the difference is when Lightroom only works in ProPhoto RGB.

In the webinar linked, they suggest using either Hasselblad RGB (comparable to Adobe RGB) or Hasselblad L* RGB (comparable to ProPhoto RGB) as your embedded working space when exporting for further editing in Lightroom or Photoshop.

No matter the color space of a file imported into Lr, the Lr working space is PPRGB primaries with a gamma one unity.

Here, we were talking about exporting a TIFF from Phocus using the working space as the source for the embedded output profile in the TIFF. That may have been unclear.

I assume that Lightroom then preserves the embedded output profile in the TIFF for any further editing.

I believe you're both correct. The embedded output profile is maintained throughout the editing chain in LR,

It is not. Lr converts to it's own internal color space for editing, and, on export, will convert from that to any space you choose.

Hrm.. interesting. Deep dive on this.. Annex B, page 69. It appears as if there should only exist one ICC profile at a time for a .TIFF file (or to be more nuanced, one profile per image, in a .TIFF file).

https://www.color.org/ICC1V42.pdf

For some reason I thought it maintained a history of all profiles, and there was just an "active" or "working" profile to identify the most recent.

Learn something new every day.. Thanks!
