An R6 would indeed be an option too, as the skating shots wouldn't necessarily need the benefits that the R5 provides (over the R6).

More MPs for cropping I guess.

Yes. Sometimes it feels like you can crop in forever with the R5!

I have run high ISO R5 raw files through PL5 and oh my !

Oh my is right. With PL5 the sky’s the limit.

What lens would you suggest for his low light photos to go on the R5 ?

As fast (bright) as possible. Even a prime if the focal length is suitable. Shutter speed is king on the dance floor.

For high ISO the RP could get better shots than a R7 with the right lens ?

Sorry, I don’t own an RP, so I’d really be speculating. I do know which (of the two) bodies I’d prefer to go in there with myself though.

That is why I keep my RP. Brings home the low light shots.

FF definitely helps in low light. Though there may be other considerations.

R2

Having taken many cameras apart the RP's design really impresses me.

I am going to rent a R7 and see if I like it before selling anything to buy one.
