I'm sorry to hear. He seemed very nice, eager to share, and very helpful. I didn't know about his blog and YouTube channel. They look extremely helpful.

Has anyone heard from John Kimball (Dalantech)? I haven't seen his posts for a while either, and there are some of his most helpful blogs that I can't find.

Hes popped in here a few times somewhat recently. He just doesnt post as often anymore. There are a lot of really good macro photogs that just stopped posting in here over past 4 years or so, when swarms of egos became more important than improving our craft. He was posting a bit more on FB and Reddit, but I habent been on either platform much to know if he has recently.

Nick had a wonderfully graceful way of just staying objective and taking time to "show his work" and seemed to not be nearly as bothered as some of us by the changes in this forum. He didnt care about brands, sensor size etc and was just a very straight up, likable dude. This forum has taken a serious blow by his loss. I watched him help make a lot of photogs better - for free and for fun.
