For BT there is an option to remain On even after power down the camera.

I guess my M50 has this setting ON by default. Never changed that.

I tried it and it makes sense to have it on.
It allows you to download pictures from the camera even if it is turned off in its bag.

Have you tried this and what would that be useful for?

Someone once said this allows you to transfer your pics from the camera to the smartphone, using BT,

I am not sure, because I don't automatically transfer pics from my camera to my phone. I'd rather chose what pics to transfer to.

Not true, the camera still needs to activate and connect the WiFi signal which takes about 1 minute. Transferring files via BT would be too slow.

The BT already makes an instant connection with the camera. Provided you are connecting to the same device time after time.

You can use Bluetooth to connect to canon app, before using Wi-Fi.

BT connection allows you to take pictures, as a remote controller. Wi-Fi allows you to ALSO take full control, viewing the camera LCD and changing settings.

I prefer Wi-Fi connection. But may consider BT connection if battery juice is low.

BT is mostly to make the connection to WiFi easier but is very limited to camera control.
I'm very satisfied how fast the BT connection work though.
Provided you always connect to the same device. Connecting to other device is very problematic.
