The display on the LCD screen, in the EVF and of the histogram are all based on JPEG, even if you shoot RAW.

Looking at the LCD or even EVF image is not a good way to assess exposure because your eye response is dependent upon the ambient lighting.

The ambient lighting in no way impacts one's ability to look at and interpret the histogram.
