I was deciding between the M6M2 and the R7 just like you. I still have my M50 and love it. My plan is to keep my EMF lens and M50 as a back up camera and still use it with my loawa 9mm f2.8. I will use it when I want a small package.
The M Series is still the compact leader! Love mine for that too!
But I got the R7 because I wanted to use some of the pretty cool longer RF lenses like we see you just got! 100-400! I also wanted a heavier bigger grip for some other lenses to shoot sports in low light. The 15FPS should be nice. I have the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 ( which I need to test), The Sigma 50-100 F1.8 which works awesome with my M50, and the Sigma 50-150 F2.8.
I will be testing those sigmas over the next few weeks with the R7 and Adapter. I also will try the speed booster with these lenses too.
I got the R7 and 18-150 today so we will see how this choice works out.
The R7 is definitely the crop-sensor king for Subject Tracking. Especially humans.
With Subject Tracking (Eye/Face/Body), it's at least as good as my R5, plus it has more AF options. It doesn't have the low(er) noise of a FF sensor, but that's what DxO and RAW are for.
Here are some samples from a recent waterski show I shot (terrible conditions), but the R7 was a real champ!

Best of luck with your new kit!

I saw your water ski photos on the other thread! I really enjoyed them and appreciated the R7 reach on those.
Hey, thanks. The RF 70-200/2.8 was perfect on the R7 for that shoot.
Your help with my daughters skating photos has somewhat lead me to the R7 as well. Although I think my M50 could do it also. I just found an excuse to try some new toys! 😊
I think you'll really like the R7's (subject tracking) autofocus. I'd recommend starting with the settings that I mentioned in the Water Ski thread.
Happy shooting!
