Video example of shooting 2.4x - how it's done in the field
7

I went out on Wednesday morning at 7:30 am to find some Florinda Coccinea spider webs as it was a cooler dew-filled morning. Their webs hang low in the grass and most times it's near impossible to get under their web to get the shot....

But with Micro 4/3, not as big of an issue!

I found a web, and upon my visiting it, the spider dropped down farther into the grass. See the video here:

With the teleconverter attached to the 60mm macro lens using the Kenko 16mm extension tube, I get 2.4x magnification which is just a little more than the upcoming Olympus 90 will be capable of, but WITHOUT any teleconverter or added macro filters.

It took 45 seconds to focus bracket the 275 shots I took here. No extra lighting. I actually ended up taking a 3-ring binder and blocked some of the direct sunlight to get rid of the hot spot on the spider's body, and did the shots over just a few minutes after the video. This was the result....make sure you open the image and view it full size on your computer to appreciate what you are seeing. I did run the image through Topaz Sharpen, and am quite happy with it. It does have some shadowing around the legs that I am a bit frustrated with, but when using a light tan background it's unavoidable, and I do not have photoshop to get rid of it magically,

Any thoughts and questions are more than welcome!
