Yes, because some manufacturers embrace the third party products that their customers use (I've worked for two such companies) and other manufacturers seek to punish their customers for purchasing third party products.

Canon has made it clear which kind of manufacturer they are. They just can't compete with innovators like Sigma and Tamron anymore.

Innovators like Tamron and Sigma! That’s hilarious! It’s so over the top …

In any case, most companies that I have made the acquaintance of do not support their competitors products or take any responsibility for them. Curiously, life goes on apace.

Sigma and Tamron, if they were innovators, would focus on their own cameras and lenses instead of trying to latch on to companies that actually do innovate.
