Sigma 150-600mm C overexposing BADLY on my Nikon Z5

I've been a canon user for the past 20 years

Just made the jump to Nikon a few weeks back because I got a deal on a Z5

I grabbed a 150-600mm contemporary in hopes that I would be able to get something that would be comparable in focal range to my 100-400mm Canon L lens on an aps-c body....but I've been greeted with nothing but headache

the lens BADLY overexposes when using any of the automatic settings. only if I shoot manual, turn off all automatic ISo and whatnot can I get pictures that are properly exposed and not ust giant white blobs

I don't know if it's FTZ adapter, or the lens. My 24-70 Z mount lens works perfectly.

all have the latest firmware installed

any ideas?
