Why does apple keep "lying" about the cameras in its iPhone 14 Max Pro?

Any photographer will tell you that Apple is not being remotely "truthful" about the specs for the cameras in its new iPhone 14 Max Pro. Lying or just deceptive you decide.
The main camera is stated by apple to have a 48mp sensor - actual focal length is far far less than the 35mm equivalent focal lengths stated AND the widest aperture is far far smaller than stated.
The Main lens is quoted to be 24mm f/1.78 -- well it is not. The 24mm is a 35mm camera equivalent AND the reality is that the widest aperture is 24mm eq f/6.3 (only slightly better than the 26mm eq f/6.5)
Apple is not alone in its deception - all phone manufacturers seem to apply the same deception. The use of QUAD pattern bayer sensors, which arrange RGBG photosites in groups of 4 same colour groups --vs- groups of 4 single photosites on for each RGBG channel -- is a further cheat. The facts are simple the 48mp main camera sensor provides NO better resolution than a 12mp normal bayer pattern sensor.
See Tony Northrop's review of the IPhone Max Pro cameras for more details.

If one already owns a iPhone 13 Pro Max with 1TB is upgrading to the iPhone 14 version worth it? Based on my review and consideration of the changes to cameras -- NO absolutely not. The differences are in fact tiny -- A16 chip -vs- A15 chip and slightly improved cameras, some slight improvements to the safety features. Worth $1000 -- NO not remotely.
Spend the money on the new Ultra Apple Watch -- which does provide genuine enhancement over other models.
