For a while a fellow event photographer friend has been telling me to rate my shots in-camera during the event so all I have to do is download JUST my star rated images in LR, or download everything and filter for the rated ones. That’s what he does with his canon cameras.

I use FujiX-T3 and this doesn’t seem possible. I rated a ton of photos yesterday in camera and today I’ve downloaded the cards to LR and no stars visible on any photos.

This despite finding mentions in the firmware updates from a while ago that say it used to not be possible to do this but now it is. It specifically says they made it so ratings are applied to raw and to jpg and they’ll be visible in other software.

I shot raw+jpg and have the latest firmware and on download to LR no images have star ratings.

Is this a bug, or did I do it wrong?

Hmm - I no longer have the X-T3 to test - but the way ratings were stored changed in firmware v4.0 - originally they were stored in a proprietary structure but this changed so that they were stored in xml so that LR could read them.

As you say there was also a problem where the rating was only stored in the jpg if you shot raw+jpg (but it did get stored in the raw file if you shot raw only).

Do you have a sample jpg that you think has been rated?
