I just tried my RF24-70L and compared it to my RF15-35 and RF70-200. I think there might be the tiniest bit of "slop" when changing direction with the RF24-70 compared to the other two lenses. By slop, I mean after zooming, I can find I can wiggle the zoom ring slightly after zooming. I'm not sure the slop is even 1mm on the zoom ring.

I have not noticed it before being "sensitized" to the issue with your post. I went back and tried the 15-35 and 70-200 and did not feel even the tiny slop on those lenses. As a data point, my RF24-70 acts slightly differently when changing directions.

Thanks for testing! It is probably the same that I experience - it is probably not a mm, but "some movement" at least. I think this might be a general thing with this lenses. For a $2900 lens one should think that this was not a thing

Yes, I'm noticed the same. Generally,  zooming of 24-70 feel differently, comparing to 15-35 and 70-200.

Let's say, cheaper feeling )
