Yes, that’s what I’ve already done.

I too come from many years of shooting slide film, so I relate to where you are coming from. But really, setting aperture and shutter speed manually, in tandem with auto-ISO, is so easy.

Absolutely. But that’s still auto exposure.

Anyway, it wasn’t intended as “how do I get precisely what I want with the X-E3”, because I know full well I can’t. It was intended as “if you use manual exposure with different image styles, the fact that exposure settings are tacked on to those image styles is a pain in the hoop”.
