One question as i need to decide between the em10 iv and the e p7.

Does the p7 have a separate in camera raw converter or is it the same one as in the em10 where you can apply current settings but not actually do adjustments? Thx

Yes the EP7 has a full features (by that I mean Olympus typical) in-camera raw converter.

It's a bit weird how the Em10MarkIV didn't get it but the EP7 did, when they are basically the same hardware.

Hi, what do you mean about in camera raw converter? Like you can make adjustments in camera to the raw file on the ep7 but not the em10?

The EM10.IV like the EPL9/EPL10's, you can only convert to RAW whatever "current" settings you have to shoot. You can adjust the -/+ on highlight, mid and shadow points curve, and you can change the "film" and the noise settings and then when you convert to raw you are only given the option of "Current" and "ART Bkt."

The first is the current settings. Note that exposure compensation will not shift the exposure of the RAW on the EM10.IV. The ART Bkt. allows you to convert several art filter converstions into JPEGS. That's it.

On the EPL7, like the EM5.3, EM5.2, Pen-F, EM1MKII/III you have the full set of typical Olympus raw conversion options including selecting another color or B&W profile which is not your current shooting selection, adjust the tonal curve right there and then, adjust EV from -3 to +3, noise reduction or not, color profile, keystone compensation, and a few other things.

This full in-camera raw conversion is not available on the EM10.IV.

From the manual:

EM10.IV:

E-P7:

Note also that in the cameras with the full menu you can have two different RAW conversion presets on the ready, and also on the EP7 you can use the color and B&W profiles unique to PenF/E-P7.

So in short what you said would be correct, but want to make sure I clarify how exactly- and hope I did!

Oh ok thanks, it's the same on the em10 mkiii as well. I thought it was the same on all oly cameras. I'll probably save up for an em5 mkiii then as that would be usefull for me to have a more robust in camera raw converter.
