Cuba. x100v. Peter Turnley

I realize that Cuba is a really poorly kept secret for photography adventure. But after going earlier this year I am here to confirm to all that it is 'all that' and more.
The people of Cuba have NOTHING. Stuff we buy at the dollar store here in the US would be considered luxuries in Cuba. But the people are open, generous, full of spirit and beautiful. All set in a backdrop of beautifully decaying Habana
I spent a lot of time just wandering the neighborhoods. Always people on the street, hanging out doors etc. I ventured into some type areas that would probably not feel safe here in US but never once felt any sense of danger.
Our workshop leader was Peter Turnley. He is a world class photojournalist with like 46 newsweek covers. He's a great photographer but also a very cool guy and passionate teacher. We had organized trips to a boxing gym, ballet school, and tobacco farm, among others. We stayed in private rooms in a big old house and had local guides and all transportation arranged. We were all like one big family.
We even marched in/photographed the big May Day revolution parade. How many Americans can say THAT!?!?
My fellows used Leicas (3) a sony A7, a canon R5 and an XT-3. All I brought was the x100v. Obviously this is the kind of photography this camera was made for. Everybody else was intrigued by it, and maybe a little jealous. The experience definitely cured any Leica M curiousity i'd been harboring. I'll take the x100 over that any day for an experience like this.
These photos are just the tip of the tip of the iceberg of what I took. I have hundreds, maybe not all great, but that I would be proud to show others.
