From that perspective, I could potentially see the introduction of IBIS to the next X Pro revision and Fuji steering consumers in that direction who want a rangefinder styled body and IBIS, adding to other features (hybrid VF, WR sealing,...) they are already using to differentiate the product lines.

Can you imagine IBIS in a film camera that the X-Pro is increasingly trying to be?

Yes. yes, I can.

Imho, the reversing screen, hybrid VF etc are about replicating the shooting experience of film cameras, but not the capabilities of film cameras of yesteryear. However traditional its exterior, the X Pro (and any X series camera) is a modern camera on the inside.

But I can also see Fuji not bringing IBIS to the X Pro, if that is what their market research is telling them.

While agreeing with you I must notice that experience arises from capabilities and presence of IBIS means omitting 1/focal length shutter speed rule which for me as well as no chimping is basic in shooting experience with film cameras
