Re: Clarifying the issue

And so using my method do you agree that it overcomes the issue of not being able to tilt in the 4 diagonal tilt directions but you are now telling me that when you go to stitch them together you are running into some issue of the focus planes not aligning that you didn’t have with the horizontal tilted panos?

Sorry no offense, but making the stitch direction diagonal in a cross pattern does not solve the issue with diagonal tilt for a stitched panorama. The cross pattern for the stitch results in mirrored focus planes along the vertical axis of the photo plane. That is not just "some issue", it will result in a digital mix of opposing focus planes.

Well it is complicated, and it is now well past my bedtime

Shifted down to left

Tilted Down to the right

I assume you know I can tilt up to the left from this position

Titled up to right

I assume you know I can tilt down to left from here

I also assume you know I can shift up to the right and do the same 4 diagonal tilts from that position.

I also assume you know I can shift up to the left and get all the same 4 diagonal tilts from that position.

If there is a specific shift and tilt combination you’d like to see let me know because I can do any of them.

If you are having a mirrored focus plane on the second diagonal you are tilting the wrong damn way on the second diagonal. The lens should be tilted the same direction for all 5 shots.
