Flip your camera upside down and then see if you can get the impossible tilts you were asking about
I have tried filliping the camera upside down (just hand holding for the exercise). To no avail, the diagonals just replicates themself.
But I haven't tried it in conjunction with your suggestion of diagonal cross stitching, would there be a solution in this option?
Ok I made a mistake. You don’t need to flip the camera over to get those impossible angles. Just start my original instructions with the canon TSE label facing up and the DOF label facing up and you should be able to get all tilt angles.
The problem is at step #4 the tilt and shift rotation levers are in approximately the same place and out of easy view so it’s really easy to mistake the tilt and shift rotation levers especially since shift rotation isn’t locked in place and CANT be locked despite what I said
I bet you did the same thing as me thinking the tilt rotation couldn’t go that way because we were pulling the wrong levers but the tilt rotation only ever needs to be rotated 90 degrees so if your shift axis is rotated 45 degrees it’s impossible not to be able tilt on both diagonal axies because it doesn’t matter which 90 degrees you rotate the tilt axis. When the camera is flipped upside down it’s easier to see the levers so that’s why I thought I had solved the issue (that didn’t exist) when I had flipped it. 😳
If you are shifted 45 degrees and it seems like you can’t tilt in both directions double check you are rotating the tilt not the shift axis

Thanks for taking the time Brett. I will try to reset my brain and give it a try more.
