Hi all.

I'm buying my 70 200 2.8 soon for portrait work, but would like to also buy a 2x converter to use it for birds.

Birds is only a hobby and have limited budget. I could get a cheap fotodiox or viltrox 2x for less than 100 US or save for a Canon one next year.

I'm really falling in finding reviews for these 2x converters.

You should tell us which lens system your talking about. You have an RP, I would guess RF lens but then again my be your gear list is not up to date From the response's I think most assume EF At this time I think that Canon is the only one making extenders for RF lens's, or your going to get an EF lens and use a converter.

I have found the Kenko TELEPLUS HDpro to be good with EF lens's, I have both the 1.4 and the 2.0. The HDpro is there newest line. I use them because I use the 70-300 L where the rear lens element is just about flush with the very read of the lens and wont work with most extenders.

If you are thinking about an RF lens, no one makes an extender that works with the RF 70-200 f2.8 or f4

To get most extenders to work with the 70/300 L,first you have to zoom the lens out so the rear elements move up the barrel, then you attach the extender.Remembering not to zoom back.So in effect it becomes a prime @ 420 or 600.
