I usually have a few different kinds of these that hang around my yard, but there are not as many as I normally see. I never had to really look for them before, now they are a bit a harder to find. Possibly because the larger dragonflies are moving in, with a couple dozen hanging around at the moment.

There is another kind that I see on occasion, but I've not been able to get a picture of one this summer. The pale/white one is also a first, I don't recall seeing one of that color in the last couple of years, though it may have been a recent molt.

It's nice to get back onto a crop-sensor camera for some of these shots, I missed my 90D sometimes when I switched to the R5 (I didn't miss is too much...) but I do usually prefer APS-C for insect shots. Just my preference/opinion of course as the R5 also does a very good job.

A lovely set. I wish I had damselflies in my back garden.
