They are pictures of molts/sheds. Jumpers shed their head caps in one piece....they arent live spiders.

But plenty of people shoot live insects from distances even closer than the 60mm macro requires. I actually prefer distance of around 6" vs the longer working distances of the 100mm macros and especially the 150 or 180 macros. Lighting becomes very difficult and often lower quality than at closer ranges.
