Nope, simply the ugly sideof stacking. No way to avoid between a magnification ratio of 10:1 and 1:10. Stacking can work at higher magnifications (microscopy) and at lower magnifications (landscape photography)

Very difficult to articulate, what I find troubling, but still troubling.

Fond yourself a playmobil figure or small toy car amd a pencil. Place the pencil 1 cm in front of the other item so that it partly obscures it. Then create a stack of images. You will be able to get a decent representation of the pencil but there will be parts missing from every imagein the stack of  the item further away. In the images that should have captured that more distanced item sharply the pencil will have „expanded“ (it is magnified more) and thus obscure a larger area of the other item. Physical facts that people that do stacking either ignore or they manually correct by inventing the affected areas of the subject in PS…
